Sony recently unveiled its new entry into in the VAIO series, the NW, complete with a Blu-ray drive. It has a 15.5 inch WXGA display with XBRITE, 2 GHZ Intel Core 2 Duo P7350, ATI Mobility Radeon HD4570 with 512 VRAM, 4x BD - ROM drive, 4GB of DDR2 RAM, a webcam, 400 GB HDD and a li-ion battery with 5.5 hrs in large capacity. It has VGA and HDMI output and Memory Stick Pro, Expresscard and SD card slots.

I was quite dissapointed with this film it is not the kind of film I expected from Brendan Fraser. Previous movies made by Brendan Fraser were all entertaining and fun to watch and made money in the box office. This movie somehow lack action and the visual effects are not that effective.

HIGH DEFINITION TELEVISION WHICH IS BETTER - AN LCD, LED OR PLASMA

Some years ago, an HD capable television would have an astronomical price tag but now the price has considerably dropped and a number of consumers are now able to purchase one, though i have observed that still the price of qualtiy HD TV are still beyond the reach of many and a lot still purchase the old and affordable CRT TV. Of course these CRT TV have a limited resolution though improvements have also been made in the past, still owning a quality HD TV would be a dream come true to any movie buff or techie. I emphasize quality due to the fact that there are some tv manufacturers especially those brands that are not well known or "never heared" who claims that their TV are HD capable. But one can easily notice that these psuedo HD TV are not really HD TV. A High Definition Television should at least be capable of producing 1 Megapixel or more. Full HD TV are 2 MEGAPIXEL televisions which can fully display a 1080p resolution.

Today, there are several kinds of HD TV namely LCD, LED and PLASMA. Plasma still has an edge when it comes to image sharpness, richness of its blackness and often times when it comes to price which is pretty much lower. Sets which are below 40 inches are only available in LCD models but those 50 inches and above, plasma tends to be cheaper than LCD. Now manufacturers have introduced the LED television however this are actually LCD TV that used LED rather than flourescent lamps to light the screen. Depending on the type of LED configuration used, some LED lit LCD TV used a backlight array creating richer blacks than standard LCD TV almost the same level as that of the plasma. LED lit LCD TV are quite expensive.

Plasma HD TV have considerably improved conquering previous problems plauqing it and now it has an extended lifetime of 100,000 hours. Plasma have btter picture quality but LCD TV are catching up. LCD TV can now handle fast moving pictures by using 120HZ technology wherein the sets circuitry doubles the number of video frames smoothing out the motion. Some manufacturers like Sony have even introduced 240 HZ that quadruples the number of frames.

I have observed that the most popular kind of HD TV is the LCD TV. The vast majority of HD TV in the market are LCD TV. The LED lit LCD TV is really thin and much lighter and has a better picture quality

IS THERE A HEALTH RISK IN Wi-Fi

The first that I heard before is with regards to paper copiers which allegedly can cause infertility and then came the news that the use of cellphones can cuase brain tumors and lately the use of laptops that already has a high level of heat can also cause infertility so take precaution by keeping off your laptops near your private parts. Now there is the report that children should not use Wi-Fi on their laptops. Professor Lawrie Challis said that using Wi-Fi networks should be monitored until research into potential health risk is completed and that they should keep a safe distance from embedded antennas. He further stated that if you keep a laptop straight on your lap and using a Wi-Fi, you could be around two centimeters from the transmitter and receiving comparable exposure to that from mobile phone. If this were true then I guess not only children but adults as well are prone to the dangers of exposure to Wi-Fi.

Taken these things into consideration and though studies are still being conducted it is advisable that one should be careful like turning off you Wi-Fi at home when not in use and maybe use other alternatives of internet connections..

The device provies excellent user experience for internet and entertainment with qwetry keyboard and Touch UI and home screen functionality. It connects to mobile broadband using WLAN or 3.5G (HSDPA). It has an integrated A-GPS amd maps so you would not get lost. The New iphone 3G s

Apple just announced its next generation iPhone. Available in 16GB and 32 GB, the new iPhone dubbed 3GS or 3G(S), with the S probably referring to speed in 3G rate of 7.2mbps. It will be available June 19 in the US at $199 and $299, for the 16GB and 32 GB respectively. Apart from the iPhone OS 3.0 that is now available in Gold Master release to developers there are a couple of new of features. There is the 3megapixel camera with auto-focus and video recording at 30 fps with audio. There is a built in video editor application good for quick edits before sending MMS or uploading videos at YouTube. anoother addition is the Compass which makes it easier for those who use maps for geo-location. It also has voice control and now comes with Nike+ ipod support similar to the iPod Touch. The new Iphone with its OS 3.0 now also has Spotlight, Vloice Memos, MMS Support, Cut-Copy-Paste, Undo and Teethering.

Sony latest noise cancelling earbuds boast of in-line noise cancelling module with three separate modes: general mode, airplane mode and one for trains/buses etc. Sony states that these latest earphones will eliminate 99 percent of undesired noise. It only requires one AA cell capable of providing 20 hrs. of noise suppression.

The New PSP GO

Sony has revealed its new PSP GO. It is a next generation hand held gadget and it is half the size of the original PSP with an Ultra-Portable Design and Digital content Focus. The GO doesnt need the UMD. It has a new slide out controller and is equipped with a higher memory. It has Bluetooth capability and a built in wireless internet. sony also announced that all future PSP games will soon be available for digital downloads which means you no longer have to buy softwares on disc. Hot video games will soon be available like Resident Evil and Gran Turismo.

Actually some models of the PSP can actually be modified and its memory is expanded to 4GB to 8 GB to accomodate downloaded games. Thus one no longer needs to purchase an expensive UMD to be able play PSP games and you can have several games in just one memory stick. PSP GO could possibly be the solution of Sony to this sort of piracy of its PSP games for in PSP GO you would just have to download the games and would no longer need the UMD.

DVD Review: The Curious Case of Benjamin

Stars Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett about a man who was born in a very unusual manner. Benjamin was born old (80 years old) and ages backward. It is an epic story of the unusual adventures of Benjamin Button wherein during his lifetime he mets his love interest Cate Blanchett. the movie is directed by David Fincher and has stunning visual effects.

The movie is quite long but nevertheless entertaining. The visual effects were effective as can be seen on the appearance of the new born but old Benjamin and the way he looks as he ages backward. Its just amazing to see Benjamin as he ages back and to see him die as a baby in the arms of her old lover played by Cate Blancehett.

At last a sony ericcson walkman phone that has a with a 3.5 mm audio jack. This would enable a user to have preference of the kind of headphone that one would want to use. This new walkman phone has a great clear bass sound and though included in the package is a nice headset others might opt for a better and maybe even expensive headset to get the most out of this phone. This sony walkman phone sounds better compared to other cellphone with audio players. It is actually a multi media phone with a 8.1 megapixel camera with features found in digital cameras. It is YouTube compatible with a large screen, Wi-Fi capability, FM Radio, WayFinder Navigator , HSPA , a large memory 8GB expanable to 16GB (M2 card)and other grreat features. PIRATED DVD AND BLU-RAY DISC

Today there are many pirated disc claiming to be blu-ray copies. many people are beeing fooled to believe that indeed these are blu-ray disc copies. It is basic that blu-ray disc are not capable of being played in DVD players while DVD discs can be played in blu-ray players. People should learn to distinguish the difference of the two disc in order not to be fooled by unscrupulous persons selling bootleg disc. The truth is these are not blu-ray disc but merely DVD. Movies from blu-ray disc have been copied and transferred to DVDs in a lower resolution some at 720p. Pirates use a bootleg format called AVCHD which uses 720 horizontal lines instead of Blu-rays 1080 resolution. I have seen these so called pirated blu-ray disc and i must admit that the quality is quite impressive even the packaging my gosh it even looks better than the original in terms of packaging. When i played these pirated disc copied from original DVD and Blu-ray, it feels like the real thing, almost. Most of these pirated disc dont have special features and it somtimes have wrong descriptions. Some of these disc have no special features coz they claim that they have been recorded in HIGH BIT RATES wherein a lot of memory is being used as compared to ordinary copies of DVD. I have bought an original movie DVD in HIGH BIT RATE and they have deleted the special features and indeed it sounds better and looks crispier.

One must be knowledgeable when dealing with this vendors of pirated because some of them are ignorant when it comes to the technalities of a dvd and blu-ray. They even dont know what is a dolby digital and DTS. So long that the audio is clear they insist that is already enough. You should know the difference between a DVD and blu-ray etc. otherwise you will be misled by this unscrupulous vendors.

I even saw pirated UMD movies for the PSP, They even claim to have a real pirated blu-ray movie using a blu-ray disc thus it is is supposed to be an exact duplicate of an original blu-ray movie however i have not tested it yet if what they claim is true.

The positve effect of this piracy is that it forced down the price of original DVD. Before the price of an original DVD is really quite high but with the introduction of piracy these prices went down because most movie buffs tend to patronize this low price pirated copies and thus to enable to compete, the price of original DVD went down. Though this has brought losses in terms of millions of dollars to the movie industry.

In the Philippines, a licensed distributor of original DVD movies lowered their prices to 299 or less unfortunately only the features film have been included in the disc meaning the special features have been omitted. Not only that, the packaging even looks cheap. What is the use of buying of an original DVD when the special features have been deleted. Ironically, some pirated DVD especially those with great packaging have better picture quality and some even have complete special features. This development is very dissappointing especially to those collectors like me who only buy original DVD. The qulaity of original DVD movies should be maintained despite the recduction in its price. Fortunately, some distributors still manitain the qulity of original DVD despite the reduction of its price.

furthermore as I have stated dont be fooled by some neat and beautiful packages of pirated DVD movies because some still have poor picture and sound quality. Just remember dont ever buy a pirated movie featuring a movie that is currentlt being shown in theater or a recently shown movie because for sure they are of poor quality. You have to wait for several months for a qualtiy pirated movie.

However, I would like to stress lest I be misunderstood that I AM NOT ENCOURAGING THAT YOU PURCHASE A PIRATED DVD OR ANY DISC FOR THAT MATTER FOR IT HAS CAUSE SEVERE LOSESS TO THE MOVIE INDUSTRY AND THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN ADVERSELY AFFECTED BY PIRACY BESIDES THE FACT THAT IT IS A VIOLATION OF THE COPYRIGHT LAW.
